Week 3: The problem of "Tom and Jerry" being less creative in their recent series 

Maybe some people does not recognize the president of USA, but one thing we can sure is they will know what is "Tom and Jerry". From this sentence, we can know that how popular is Tom and Jerry. Tom and Jerry is a hilarious cartoon series that has been running since the 1940s. This cartoon is general audiences all ages admitted, this is one of the reason why this cartoon become very popular. Besides, Tom and Jerry had won seven Oscar award and thirteen nomination. Nowadays, Tom and Jerry only do simple and normal story for audience especially "The Tom and Jerry Show" in 2014 comparing to the old Tom and Jerry. For example, the writer just basically wrote how Jerry and Tom piss off each other, and then Tom will chase Jerry and Jerry will try to escape and think how to toy Tom. The audience will feel bore if they keep watching the same theme in a cartoon series.

     If the writer does not want to change and keep continue his or her to write the same story, soon Tom and Jerry will lose their competition. Even though Tom and Jerry is still the most popular cartoon in the world, but don't forget that there are a lot of cartoons series also being popular. So, if the writer keep writing the same story will lead to the rating and audience measurement of Tom and Jerry become low due to the audience tired of watching the same story and plot. Apart from that, the moral value convey by Tom and Jerry will disappear. The reason why Tom and Jerry so popular not just only funny, but also the moral value they try to convey is much more better than the other cartoon does. For instance, even Tom always been the rival of Jerry but when Jerry in the danger, Tom will save him without any hesitation, this had show the kindness and the friendship. If the rate and audience measurement of Tom and Jerry become lower, those moral value will not be able to convey since the cartoon series become less popular. 

    There is a problem, there is a solution. There are three creative solution that I would like to advise to the writer of Tom and Jerry. First of all, the writer of Tom and Jerry can consider add some new a new main character. As we know that, the main characters of Tom and Jerry are Tom the cat, Jerry the mouse, Spike the dog, and also Tuffy the grey mouse with white pant. From audience perspective, they are already familiar the relationship between main characters. If the new main character add into the series, there will a lot of new interactives between main characters and perhaps will also expand a new story. Hence, this will let the audience feel fresh and can't wait to know what will happen in the next episode.  Second, the writer of Tom and Jerry can also add more love element to the series. Tom and Jerry might have the love element in the story, but only few. If the writer can write more love story between the main characters and their lover, it can attract a lot of audience. This is due to the reason that most of the audience are tend to like to watch love scene. Lastly, the writer can change the story style of Tom and Jerry. We know that the story style of Tom and Jerry is more like slice of life, so the story will be more simple and normal. For example, the writer can turn the main characters become the superheroes. This is because children are tend to like to watch superheroes. 

   The reason why I write this title is because Tom and Jerry is my first cartoon and also my favourite cartoon. It has irreplaceable place in my heart, so it is very sad to see that the rating of Tom and Jerry become low. The inspiration to come out this creative solution is when I was still a child, I will keep imagine how to modify the story of Tom and Jerry. I hope that in the future Tom and Jerry will keep bring the fun and moral value to the world.
